Saturday, March 29
Salisbury University welcomes Waka Flocka Flame and Travis Porter to the Wicomico Civic Center on Saturday, March 29.
Hailing from Atlanta, GA, Waka Flocka Flame first became known for his 2009 single "O Let's Do It", which entered the Billboard Hot 100. His 2010 follow-up single, "No Hands" (featuring Roscoe Dash and Wale) reached number 13 on the chart and received diamond certification by the Recording Industry Association of America. Both songs, along with "Hard in da Paint" and "Grove St. Party" (featuring Kebo Gotti), preceded the release of his debut studio album Flockaveli (2010), which peaked at number six on the Billboard 200. His second studio album, Triple F Life: Friends, Fans & Family (2012) peaked at number ten on the chart and was supported by singles "Round of Applause" (featuring Drake), "I Don't Really Care" (featuring Trey Songz) and "Get Low" (featuring Tyga, Nicki Minaj and Flo Rida).
Waka has always followed his own muse, whether in the form of new music, vegan advocacy, or starring on the reality TV show Love & Hip-Hop.
Travis Porter is a hip hop trio from Atlanta, consisting of stepbrothers Ali and Quez and their friend Strap. The group signed with Jive Records to release their debut single, "Make It Rain" in 2010. It entered the Billboard Hot 100, along with "Bring It Back" (remixed featuring Too Short) and "Ayy Ladies" (featuring Tyga). Their debut studio album From Day 1 (2012) peaked at number 16 on the Billboard 200.
