Over the last decade, Wicomico County Tourism has successfully developed two other signature events for the region. The Pork in the Park Barbeque Festival, held annually on the third weekend of April, is now the second largest Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned competition in the nation. The Autumn Wine Festival, entering its seventh year this October 16 and 17, continues to grow and now features over 20 Maryland Wineries.
“The success and continued growth of our current signature events, when coupled with the experience we’ve gained in the sports marketing arena, has prepared us to enter into the field of marathons,” explains Wicomico Tourism Manager Sandy Fulton. Fulton further elaborates, “We are very excited about this new venture and the opportunity to introduce a new signature event to Wicomico County.” For more information on the Hidden Treasures Half Marathon & 5K or any of Wicomico Tourism’s signature events please visit www.WicomicoTourism.org.
